Now For Something a Little Different…
June 17, 2009 | | 4 Comments
Greetings,
After last night’s post, I got to thinking how else I could expand the use of this blog and what other methods of sharing I could possibly come up with. One way I thought I could do this is to maybe now and then share a lesson or two that I have constructed in my Smart Board Notebook files. With having said this, here is the first of my lessons that I have come up with over the past year to use with my students.
As read above this is a daily morning mini-math lesson that I use with the students as they come into the classroom. The children are expected to come into the class and sharpen their pencils for the day and then sit down and work on the problem of the day by themselves or with a partner. I inform them that if they are working with a partner that they will still need to show their work on their own paper. Here are some sample pages within this document.

What I have done so that the children will have the same exact page that will appear on the Smart Board is go to the Print option inside of Notebook and printed off the exact full page replica of the Notebook slide for each student daily. This screen will look like this…
When I post lessons like this one and in the future I will be then posting the lessons onto my Box.net Share folder that is located at this Box.Net Link.
Thanks for stopping,
Bill

Janie-
Thanks for the comments, this is what I am hoping to accomplish through this site.
Cheers,
Bill
Great idea, Bill. I will definitely be using this at the beginning of my math lessons.
You mentioned that you will be posting these lessons to Box.Net. I signed up for an account. Do I have to add you as a collaborator to see your lessons?
Denise
Denise-
I sent you an invitation to my box.net file system. This should allow you access into the folder to all the lessons.
This was my first year with Everyday Mathematics and at the beginning of those lessons are problems called Minute Math, and I used this Notebook file in lieu of the Minute Math lessons.
